After breakfast, you will visit the Blue Mosque, built in only 7 years by order of Sultan Ahmet I in 1609. It gets its name from the blue Iznik tiles that cover the inside. Stroll through Topkapi Palace, with its impressive displays of jewelry, porcelain, clocks, miniatures, textiles, and religious artifacts. “Topkapi” means “Gate of the Cannon” for the Byzantine arsenal once situated where the Palace now stands. Visit St. Sophia, the Christian masterpiece whose construction was presided over by the Emperor Justinian. The day’s tour ends with a visit to the Grand Bazaar, a shopper’s delight with more than 4000 shops from which to choose.

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch
Hotel: Sirkeci Mansion

Day 4Istanbul - Ankara

Today you will cross the Bosphorus to the Asian Continent and continue to Ankara. You will visit the Anatolian Civilization Museum housed in a 15th century covered bazaar and inn. It contains a rich collection of Hittite artifacts, which date to the beginning of the 2nd century B.C. There are also masterpieces of other cultures that flourished in the Anatolian heartland.

Day 5Ankara - Cappadocia

After breakfast, your tour continues to Cappadocia, passing a large salt lake. You will then stop at the picturesque village of Uchisar.

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Hotel: Kaya Uchisar

Day 6Cappadocia

Today’s visit takes you to the labyrinthine tunnels of an underground city, with numerous levels carved out of the earth containing chapels, living quarters, kitchens, stores, and cellars. Many of these amazing cities were so well hidden that they were not discovered until the 1950’s. The tour then proceeds to Goreme Valley and the open-air museum of Zelve, with their impressive rock churches and frescoes.

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Hotel: Kaya Uchisar

Day 7Cappadocia – Konya - Antalya

After breakfast, drive to the holy city of Konya, home of the Sufi mystic, Mevlana Rumi, and visit the Museum of the Whirling Dervishes and the Selcuk Mosaic Museum.

Continue to Antalya, the jewel of Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, aptly named the “Turquoise Coast.”

Meals: Breakfast

Day 9Antalya - Pamukkale

Today, your tour travels to Pamukkale, where calcareous water cascading over the mountainside, forming numerous levels of water basins and white stalactites, has given it the colorful name of “Cotton Fortress.” While there, you will visit the ruins of Hierapolis, founded in 190 B.C. by the King of Pergamum.

Definitely good value for money! I enjoyed this tour very much! The hotels were of the great quality, the tour guide was very intelligent and information he provided was very interesting. Visited great places in Turkey – highlights for me were a cruise in Antalya, ballooning in Cappadocia, and a Bosphorus river cruise. Definitely good value for money! Thank you! Sep 2022

I think there should be more time in Cappadocia since it is the best of the whole tour and it is very little time to enjoy it, other than that, great hotels, and the coach was excellent.

I recommend Classic Turkey for the following reasons: excellent tour director, clean, modern coach, good hotels and reasonably good itinerary.

my family of 4(including a 4 year old) went on the Classic Turkey tour in november. We had an amazing time. I have travelled a lot but never on a group tour. This was one of the best trips we have ever had. Everything was taken care of, we just sat back and enjoyed. The hotels were nice, the tours were nice. The only thing you might want to consider is that you travel on a bus from city to city which can be many hours on the bus. We however didnt mind because it allowed us to really see the country. If you travel with kids just make sure to take something they can watch movies on while on the bus. I had many questions and Can was always very prompt at answering, actually all of my emails were answered within the hour. We were very satisfied with the whole experience
